To reduce ex-offender recidivism by providing educational, vocational, and employment skill sets that will enable the man/woman to embark on a new path.

We require:

• Class site either a building or use of three floors in a building
• Licensed teachers or accredited teachers
• Desks, chairs, computers, teaching supplies
• Social work staff, job counsellors, daily management counselors

We will impart to our students

• Employability
• Basic Interviewing Techniques
• Basic elements of Small Business Management: All Aspects of the Industry
• Starting and Operating A Business in Virginia
• Safety skills and Techniques
• Industry based Commercial Cleaning Techniques
• Basic elements of Estimating & Bidding for Contract Cleaning
• Recovery Church

Participants of the program must provide proof of a GED and/or high school diploma.  They must  read/write on at least an 8th grade level, must commit to demonstrating professional etiquette at all times.  They must successfully demonstrate Evidence Based Practice (EBP) which is the ability to explain and/or demonstrate curriculum course knowledge.

Our Program Goal 5 years

• Have 25 ex offenders transitioned out either in further education study or careers or both
• Have another program up and running in either another part of city or state
• Have program advanced to incorporate more job choices and career challenges
• Have marriage and family counselling programs in place
• Include programs to help study for GED and advance placement studies with participation with local community colleges

Our Program Goal 10 years

• Have former transitioned men/women working on staff, helping newly arrived
• Have 5 programs in place citywide/statewide and NC/MD
• Scholarships/Grants/Small Business Loans available

Evangelist with a Bachelor and Masters in Religious Studies, Founder of After His Likeness Ministries; an author having published his first book in 2003 entitled "Take Another Look: The New Spiritual Face of the Baptist Church".  Currently writing a sequel due out in December, 2011.  Mr. Hunt has completed another book, "Offender Re-entry: Looking From the Inside Out."  This book focuses on what transpires behind prison walls that either serves as a benefit or hindrance to effective offender re-entry into mainstream society.
